When I was little, my mum and dad sang in a choir. It was called the Philharmonia Chorus; a throng of amateur singers from many walks of life, who sang under some of the best conductors in the world at the time – I’m talking Otto Klemperor, Carlo Maria Giulini, Riccardo Muti. There was passion involved – a lot of it.
